Bronze, nickel and gold
　In the electroplating process, each bow and leg must be electroplated with nickel. Nickel is another name for "silver". Although we did not apply the actual silver to the lead, it was not entirely accurate. (more like chromium, to be exact). After the pins are nickel plated, the color can be changed to bronze or color. The charge causes the ions (bronze, nickel or gold) in the plating solution to adhere to the needle holder.
Sandblasting
　In addition to the cost, we think sandblasting can provide some of the best artistic effects. Especially when combined with transparent enamel.
　Among the three options in this paper, sandblasting is the only one with higher cost.
　The process is labor-intensive. Each pin is stamped, trimmed and polished. They are then added to the flat frame and inserted into the sandblasting machine. The machine uses strong air pressure to "peen" sand particles onto the surface of the pin. It provides a nice dull look. Then, the factory will polish the top of the pin so that the edges, lines, text or raised details appear bright.
Carving texture
　Our factory provides 12 different textures for your custom pushpin design. CNC mold manufacturing technology can create many different appearances in the front and middle of your design background or features.
　When trying to create contrast between artistic elements, consider using a background texture. Texture ranges from gravel to dull.
　This process is cheaper than sandblasting. The difference is that the pattern is carved into the mold and then used to punch out the pin blank. Textures 1 and 2 are closest to sandblasting. The airline pushpin below has an embossed texture in the background.
